Today I was making a WeVideo about what we did on camp because to present at assembly.

I found it hard to find photos of camp. 

I enjoyed making the video because its really fun to edit. 

 

How do Mood Rings Work?

Today I read an article of how do mood rings work? 

when the temperature of your finger the colour of the ring changes. but sometimes its not actually what your felling.                                                          

mood rings have i little crystals in them that can change colour from the temperature from your finger and the crystals is covered in glass.

Today we were learning the 3 sacraments of initiation by rapping it. 

I enjoyed editing it because we got to use Wevideo.

I found it hard  do the beat because it was difficult.

Today I was making a slide about CST  (Catholic Social Teaching) we were doing it because it was Social Justice week. 

I found it difficult find the answers to the questions because i didn't know the answers 

I found it easy to find colours that go together 

my Speech

Today I was learning how to present a speech because we are doing our speech. 

I enjoyed saying it to the class. 

I found it difficult to to find some facts about drums. 

Do You Think Drumming is an Awesome Instrument?

Do you think drumming is an awesome instrument? I personally think yes. There are Lots of different beats you can learn, You can learn how to play different songs and you can learn the Purpose of a drum, Making it an awesome instrument to play. 

First of all, you can learn a lot of different beats. On a drum set there is a 

snare, high tom, mid tom, low tom, bass drum, hi hats, ride cymbal, and 

crash cymbal. My favourite beat is Paradiddle because it's very simple and 

you can play it in three different ways. The first way is a very simple way, 

second is a hardesh one and last one is more complex because there more 

More beats. Whatever the beat is called, it's probably what the beat sounds 

like.   You can make up your own beats or learn different beats. in my opinion 

The easiest beat is the drum roll and the hardest beat is the bear bone, 

which an article stated took someone 30+ years to learn That is a crazy 

amount of time to learn a beat. 

Secondly, you can learn how to play a song. For example if you like a song so much and you want to play it on an instrument you can play it on drums. I think the easiest song to play on drums is probably Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and the hardest song to play on drums is Moby Dick by Led zeppelin. The best female drummer is Cindy Blackman. She has been in two bands, the spectrum road and santana. The best male drummer is John Bonham. He has been in two bands, led Zeppelin and band of joy. 

Lastly, the purpose of a drum is to keep everyone in time. The bass normally keeps everyone in time but if the bass drummer isn't there you can still keep yourself in time and everyone else in time. If you're in a pipe band the purpose of a drum is to give beat to the bagpipes. There are multiple different types of drums one drum is a cajon it is basically a snare drum but you sit on it and use your hands but sometimes you can use soft drum sticks. 

In this speech I have shared 3 reasons why you should become a drummer. There's lots of different beats you can learn, you can learn how to play songs and the purpose of a drum.  This is why you should start drumming.

Today I was writing my speech because at our school we are our speeches. 

I found it hard to think of a topic to do my speech on. 

I enjoyed learning fact abouts drums I didn't know because it was interesting to learn. 

Mult Egg Carton

 

Today i made a multiplication egg carton game to practice my multiplication.

I enjoyed making the title because you could add heaps of colour and add what ever you want.

I found it difficult to rip off the label on the egg carton because it was sticky. 

animal art

Today we were making animal art work for our art exhibition because our school is saving up for money to go to camp.

I found it difficult to paint around the nose and eyes because i couldn't paint over the eyes and nose  or get to close to it.

I enjoyed shading the nose and eyes because i have only done shading a couples of time before and i wanted to do it again. 

next time i would do a cat not a dog because I want to try do a different animal. 

African Elephants facts

   

Today I was making a poster about Elephants facts because we are writing a report about animals.

I found it difficult to find where to put the facts because there wasn't much room to put them 

I enjoyed finding facts about elephants because there my favourite animal and iv always wanted to know more about them.

next time i would add more detail because there wasn't much detail. 

African Elephants

African Elephants are mammals which means they are warm blooded and herbivores so they are plant eaters. Loxodont africana is there scientific name. The 2 species of African Elephant are Savannah/Bush and Forest Elephant. A family of Elephants contains females, their babies and other female Elephants. The male Elephants live on there own or live with other males. Female African Elephants are called cows, Male Elephants are called bulls and baby Elephants are called Calves. There used to be over 120,000 African Elephants but now there are 600,000 to 700,000 African Elephants. 

African Elephants can weigh up to 2.5 to 7 tons and 12 to 24 ft in length. Their trunks can make heaps of noises, not just trumping noises. The trunk has the most muscles. Also have huge tusk to hunt for predators. In their body they have over 40,000 muscles. They have huge teeth, there molars will grow six times in a lifetime and grow 10 to 12 inches long and weigh more than 3.6 kg. 

African Elephants can live in multiple places mostly found in sub saharan Africa. Some are found tropical and subtropical places, dry lands and by water holes. Water holes give them access to water so they can drink water and have water baths. 

African Elephants can live up to 70 years or older. With there tunk they can do heaps of things like dig holes, bath them. When African Elephants greet each other they touch trunks. When they're happy, joyful, excited or ready to fight they make grunting noises. In their lifetime they make 70 sounds and 160 signals. The noise that they make the most is a trumpeting noise. When a baby african elephant is born they weigh up to 120 kgs, they in there mums tummy for 22 months till it is born. 

Some Elephants have been extinct and I think elephants should not be extinct because they are innocent creatures and deserve better than they get.

Rugby Touch Photo Collage

 

Today we were learning how to play touch rugby with Turanga Health because we can learn different skills from playing it and put it in to different sports and so we can be active so we are healthy and strong.

I enjoyed playing the actual game because you get to play against your friends. And defending the other players I have improved with my side stepping to defend  

I found it difficult to trying to get the ball because everyone else was holding it. 

Next time I would start talking more to try get the ball so i have a chance of trying to score a try.

Wetas

 classification

There are multiple different species like tree weta, ground weta, cave weta, giant weta and tusked weta.  a weta is an insect people usually mistake for crickets.  There are 70 species of wetas but over 20 years ago there were over 100 species. but some of them got extinct. it takes 1 to 2 years for it to become a adult.

Description 

Wetas weight up to 71 gm witch is like the size of 3 baby mouses. Its one of the biggest insects in New Zealand. There antennas are the size of the wetas bodys sometimes it can grow 2 times the size of there body. if it brakes it will grow back. They have a hard exoskeleton to keep them safe from predators. And they have holes in the side of there body they breath out of.

Wetas are nocturnal with means they only come out at night and sleep in the day. Wetas live in dark places like in trees holes, under stones and in trees. wetas are normally found in New Zealand. 

Dynamics 

The weta can hold there breath for up to 10 minutes. Females can lay 200 to 400 eggs in there life time. and 1 to 6  eggs in a group. The eggs are about 6 mm long. They can also fertilize with there poo.

What’s the Difference Between a Crocodile and an Alligator

Today i read a article about what’s the difference between a crocodile and an alligator.

the easiest way to tell a crocodile and an alligator apart is by looking at their teeth when there moths are closed when. when alligators close their mouth you cant see their teeth but when crocodiles cloth there moth you can see their teeth . 

some people can tell by looking at their skin colour alligators have dark green skin and crocodiles have lighter skin like tan or brown. 

crocodiles are mostly found in central america and alligators are mostly found in china and the united states.

Matariki Breakfast

Delicious! Today our class had matariki breakfast because it was Matariki and we were celebrating the maori new year. The fluffy waffles was my favourite because the whip cream melted in my mouth.  I had bacon, fruit kabob, pancakes, pizza bread and sausages.
